Desert Island Top 5: Side 1, Track 1

The beautiful thing about records is being able to discern Side A from Side B or however many sides that particular album has. Oftentimes artists have a certain mood/theme for one half of the album and then shift to a different mood/theme, and this is usually indicated by a new side of the record. Being able to physically see where that switch happens is very helpful in analyzing and enriching your understanding of that album and fully grasping what the artist is trying to convey.

This list focuses on lead off tracks; these tracks are the first songs you hear on an album and set the tone for the record to come. Track 1's are carefully selected by the artists and set at the forefront of the album for a reason. These are my Top 5 Side 1, Track 1's.
